I think this problem is related to the same issue that happened with my Creative Soundblaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio when I first bought the computer. If you remember, I had used the onboard sound chip, and it had some problems. There was a very small delay between the audio and the video and the audio chip would also stop playing at random times for no reason. So I went to Creative and they replaced the chip for me. I fixed the problem, but I never found out what was causing it. Anyway, I am worried. And there is also a second reason. When I did the upgrade from 8.4.4 to 8.5, the Synapse disappeared from the menu. I could not get it back. So the main problem is solved, but I still have not figured out why it disappeared. The second problem is related to the installation. I used Synapse in the previous version but I decided to install Synapse in Linux Mint. I tried to make an installation disk with dd or mkusb. I even tried using the Linux Mint installation disk but it did not work. Some of you may be thinking that these problems are related to Windows. I think so too. But when I compare the two versions of Synapse that I have, the one that I have is made for Linux Mint and it is located in /usr/share/synapse/synapse-media-manager.
